A Message from the CBMEO President

Dear CBMEO Officers and Members,

I look forward to a year of new development and enthusiasm for the Conference of Black Municipal Elected Officials of South Carolina. Our priorities and goals should be centered around increasing membership, establishing and developing partnerships, increasing our fund raising capacity, and becoming a viable resource of information as it relates to issues in our communities.

It is important to grow our membership and implement strategic leadership priorities through partnerships such as the SC Legislative Black Caucus, Conference of Black Mayors, county elected and appointed officers, school board representatives and others in a non-partisan way.

The CBMEO’s effectiveness will be measured by our ability to strengthen our state’s visibility and how we engage more financial support. We most become more involved in legislative efforts related to public policy development that has an impact on South Carolina’s cities and towns with an emphasis on African American issues, media outreach, economic development, housing, education, and the Voting Rights Act…to name a few.

I look forward to your participation and renewed commitment to getting the job done. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at rpeggyb@cbmeo.org

Sincerely,

Rosemounda “Peggy” Butler
